Back in the 1980s Johnny Bell, then a hospital consultant, noticed total prenatal nutrition, a means of feeding via IV, was covered by insurance and began providing at-home treatments to patients. The business was successful, and he launched Vital Care in 1986, building a sales, marketing and billing framework to help franchisees replicate his success.

Vital Care franchisees can treat a range of different illnesses, and work with patients and their healthcare providers to create a specialized treatment plan. Linden Capital Partners, a healthcare focused private equity shop, is the majority owner of Vital Care.
