This full-service fondue restaurant was founded in 1975. The first restaurant that opened in Maitland, Florida, originally only had three items on the menu. As time went on, the menu and unit count expanded, thanks to it becoming a franchise in 1984.

Melting Pot restaurants offer entree and dessert fondues, as well as a selection of beers and wines. Today the company is headquartered in Tampa, Florida and has locations across the United States and in Canada.
