Founded in Chicago in 1977, Potbelly Sandwich Shop is a fast-casual restaurant franchise serving its signature submarine sandwiches along with soups, salads, mac and cheese and desserts.

Potbelly’s founder, Peter Hastings, began selling sandwiches on the side to customers at his Chicago antique shop. Soon after, the shop transformed into a Windy City lunchtime hotspot, setting the stage for the hundreds of units today. It went public in 2013 and trades under the ticker PBPB.
