Company Description

Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken is a casual dining franchise founded in 1966 that serves chicken, biscuits and homestyle sides. Its founder has a notable pedigree—Lee Cummings is the nephew of Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC. After the sale of Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1962, Cummings began developing his recipes and in 1966 started with Harold Omer "Harold's Take-Home" in Lima, Ohio, introducing his Famous Recipe Chicken. Franchising began the same year. The 2000s brought several ownership changes and the introduction of Spicy Jumbo Dippers, among other innovations, to the menu.
