This brand of early childcare and education centers was founded in 1981 by husband-and-wife team George and Pauline Miller. They opened the first Kiddie Academy center in the Baltimore area. Kiddie Academy sold its first franchise agreement in 1993, and it has since grown to upward of 300 locations.

The company is known in the childcare space for its enrichment programs and the site selection and design flexibility it affords franchisees. There are Kiddie Academies across the country, though locations are concentrated on the East Coast.
