Handel’s Ice Cream has been in the homemade ice cream making and selling business since 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio, where they sold ice cream out of the corner of a gas station. The brand has more than 150 different flavors of ice cream and yogurt in rotation and serve nearly 50 of those flavors on a daily basis, made fresh at each location. Handel’s proprietary recipes have been passed down for generations.

Private equity firm Clearlight Partners purchased a majority stake in the company in 2020.
