Habit Burger & Grill started in 1969 as a family-owned restaurant in Santa Barbara, California. It slowly expanded into the Los Angeles area and began franchising in 2007. Yum Brands, parent company of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, acquired Habit in 2020. The brand is headquartered in Irvine, California.
